Gretel Elite Collection Costume

So this costume is a bit of an each way bet. It looks sexy and is undoubtedly a great looking serving or waitress costume (like our car hop costume) but it could also be an adult version of the Gretel character from the famous Hansel and Gretel nursery tale (not sure why it was called a nursery tale as it is pretty scary and creepy). Whatever it is or whatever you decide it is, it will sure make a great costume for Halloween or some other dress up occasion. If you are convinced it looks best as a sexy waitress costume then wear it to a Oktoberfest party, but be ready for all the attention you are going to get.

The costume is another dress in the style of a dirndl. It is described as a Jacquard ribbon trimmed full dress. A Jacquard dress has more texture than an ordinary dress and threads can be laid on top of each other using the Jacquard loom. Looking at the picture, this isn't really apparent.

The skirt part of the dress is short and can be pushed out by the lace petticoat that is supplied with this costume. The petticoat is a nice touch and it gives the  costume a bit of definition and shape. The dress has a light blue color with black striped trim.

There is the obligatory apron that you expect with this traditional style Alpine costume. The apron is quite small so that it doesn't get in the way but is good for drying your hands when frothy beer spills on them. Having said this,the apron is more for affect than of practical use.

The black colored bodice or vest had a red ribbon for tightening or loosening so that you feel comfort even while the costume hugs your body. The bodice has a pretty floral pattern to complement the red ribbon drawstring and break up the black color.

The white, peasant style blouse is an off the shoulder number with ruffled short sleeves. You also receive the socks and bandanna as in the picture.

This could work as a waitress costume provided you have the beer stein to complement it. Or you could go as Gretel from the nursery tale. If you do go as Gretel be sure to get your significant other to go as Hansel to complete the nursery tale and make a perfect couples look for Halloween or another dress up event.
