It has it’s roots in the folk costume for women known as the dirndl but has been updated to look more vibrant and sexy than the traditional outfit might have been. The most distinctive difference in this costume is the short mini skirt. It comes in a black color with a small red apron. The apron has a trim of floral pattern around it. The same red color is used for the imitation bodice on the midriff of the costume. There is a middle lace up section of the bodice so that you can draw it into the shape of your body. Again the bodice is accented by the floral Bavarian style pattern. Above the bodice is the white, peasant style blouse that is distinctive by the ruffles around the neckline and the shoulders. This gives the costume a bit of definition and character. Speaking of definition, it is recommended that you get a frilly petticoat to go under the skirt. This pushes the skirt out and gives more shape to the costume. The finishing touches of the costume are the choker and headband. Both these items are in red with the Bavarian floral pattern. They give the costume a bit more of a cuteness factor that is sure to go down well at a party even a dress up occasion at Halloween or an Oktoberfest party. Most people that have worn this costume recommend wearing stocking with this costume to give it a bit more balance but you can probably also wear it without stocking too if you really want to flaunt your legs. |
