Bavarian Beer Garden Girl Costume

It would also make a great Halloween party costume if you want to look a little different from the witches, pirates or vampire costume wearers. The costume is obviously inspired by the Bavarian region of Germany that is famous for the Oktoberfest beer festival. People from all over Germany (and the world for that matter) flock to Munich in September to partake of this beer charged festival. It is great fun and is one heck of an atmosphere. The atmosphere is especially great in the beer halls were strangers sit together on long table that will sit 30 odd people at any one time. They will listen to music and generally get smashed drinking the German lager in large steins. To help the beer go down they will often eat some bratwurst type snack (which no doubt inspired the hotdog). A key to all this few weeks of fun is the servers. They are typically dressed in an outfit like in the picture. This particular costume is simply that – a costume. It has a few difference to a typical outfit that a server at the Oktoberfest might wear. This is to make it more distinctive, interesting and to stand out at a party. So the Bavarian Beer Garden Girl Costume is based on a traditional Bavarian style dress (sometimes referred to as a dirndl) with white peasant blouse. It also has some suspenders (or faux suspenders) with a typical Bavarian style pattern on them. The blouse part of the costume has a heart shaped neckline and off the shoulder short ruffled sleeves. There is a pink midriff that is supposed to be a bodice. The skirt is a mini skirt (which is not typical of an Oktoberfest costume but gives the costume a bit more sex appeal and character) in a green color. There is a lace petticoat that also give the skirt more definition. There is also a frilly apron on the front of the costume and a choker.
