The Tradition Behind The Costume

Traditionally, this German Beer Girl Costume is actually very much inspired by the dirndl.  The dirndl is a traditional costume worn in various counties around Germany, like Austria and Bavaria.  This Alpine look is basically a bodice over a blouse with an apron over a skirt.  This ay also be referred to as the “peasant style”, however, this costume is anything but cheap.  The modern designs are actually a bit pricey as they are usually made with silk or hand made fabrics.

From the 1870s to today, the dirndl has been accepted in society as a fashionable ensemble and a traditional costume, however, this was not always the case.  Actually, it was quite the opposite.  In the 19th century, this dress was only worn by actual maids, not ones that work at a bar.  Austrian servants were required to wear this as their uniform. 

German Beer Girl Costume Description

The German Beer Girl Costume is your basic dirndl but with a modern and sexy twist.  Just as any other look, this traditional costume was modified to keep up with the changing times.  An off shoulder white ruffled blouse with black ribbon lining and small red bows on the sleeves fits perfectly under the black bodice that you lace up with red ties.  There is a fine print of flowers and butterflies in the middle. 

Not only does this serve as a design but it actually makes any woman more voluptuous than she really is by keeping her tummy in and her bosom out.  For the lower half, instead of having a traditional full skirt, a mini seemed more suitable.  The top layer is a rich emerald green and the bottom is immaculate white.  Tie the whole look together with a tiny white apron.  A matching choker is the final piece of this sexy number.
